Full submersion enzyme bath — the only method that truly works
Spraying enzyme cleaner on the surface of a rug only treats the top few millimeters of pile. Urine soaks through to the foundation and backing — which is where most of the odor-causing uric acid crystals live.
We fully submerge the rug in a temperature-controlled enzyme bath. The solution penetrates every fiber, the warp and weft of the foundation, and the backing material — digesting uric acid, urea, and bacteria at the molecular level. UV black light detection
In our darkened inspection room, we scan every inch of the rug with professional UV black lights. Urine fluoresces under UV, revealing contamination zones invisible in normal light — including old, dried deposits you may not know are there.
Pre-treatment & dye testing
Contaminated zones are pre-treated with an enzyme activator to begin breaking down uric acid crystals. For wool, silk, and hand-knotted rugs, we test each dye color for stability before any wet cleaning begins.
Full submersion enzyme bath
The rug is fully submerged in a temperature-controlled enzyme bath. The enzymes penetrate every fiber, the foundation weave, and the backing — digesting uric acid, proteins, and bacteria at the molecular level. This is the only method that truly eliminates odor rather than masking it.
Thorough rinse & flush
After the enzyme dwell time, the rug is thoroughly rinsed and flushed with clean water to remove all enzyme solution, dissolved waste, and residual contamination. We repeat until rinse water runs clear.
Hospital-grade disinfecting
A hospital-grade, pet-safe disinfectant is applied to eliminate any remaining bacteria, pathogens, and allergens. This step ensures the rug is not just odor-free but hygienically clean and safe for children and pets.
Controlled drying & final inspection
The rug is dried in a climate-controlled environment with proper airflow. Rushing drying causes mildew and fiber damage. Once dry, we perform a final UV scan to confirm all contamination has been eliminated before returning your rug.

Silk rugs
Silk is extremely sensitive to alkaline cleaners and agitation. We use silk-safe enzyme formulas at controlled pH.
Synthetic rugs

Why enzyme treatment works — and deodorizers don't
Most store-bought pet odor products contain masking agents or oxidizers that temporarily suppress the smell. When humidity rises or the rug gets damp again, the odor returns — because the uric acid crystals are still there.
Enzyme cleaners contain biological catalysts that literally digest uric acid, urea, and the proteins in urine. Once those molecules are broken down, there is nothing left to produce odor.
